Probably one of my favorite breakfasts:
1/2 c. cooked quinoa (I got mine from Trader Joe’s) + handful or two of raw baby spinach + 1 egg
Put spinach in a skillet until the leaves start to shrivel up and wilt. Add quinoa and warm it up a bit. Transfer to bowl. Add a bit of extra virgin olive oil to the skillet and fry up an egg. Put egg on top of quinoa and spinach, then dig in. :)
Quinoa is one of the healthiest grains out there for you. It’s gluten-free and contains a high amount of protein!
Kale chips. WHAT! :) (Taken with Instagram)
Looks like Kraft is trying to get into the game. Veggie pasta, organic pasta, 50% whole grain pasta. Hahaha
My favorite post-workout snack :) #watermelon #FOOD #yummy #refreshing (Taken with Instagram)
Homemade Pizza!
Whole wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe’s. Rolled around in Trader Joe’s whole wheat flour. Toppings: Jennie-O Lean turkey sausage, mushrooms, green bell peppers, red onions, pineapple chunks, tomato slices, raw baby spinach, a few leaves of basil, Mexican 4-cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese.
Baked for 20 minutes on a pizza stone at 450 degrees. Can you say delicious?!
Yesterday (Monday) consisted of mainly Harry Potter movies, food, and a trip to Costco. All such great things!
I’ve been wanting to have my Harry Potter marathon ever since I got the last DVD for Christmas last year but haven’t had the time because 1) I didn’t want to bring all eight DVDs back to WA, and 2) winter and spring break were too busy/wanting to just relax or hang out with family and friends to spend an entire day watching movies.
So I got up at 7:30 am, fixed my breakfast and plopped myself onto the couch to watch Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Since it was so early I started to doze off so I made myself some coffee with my mom’s fancy Keurig. I put a scoop of hot chocolate powder then added Starbuck’s Pike Place roast. Hahah. Normally coffee doesn’t instantly wake me up, but after that, I managed to stay awake.
After the movie, my mom and I went to Costco (so it wasn’t [well, isn’t, since I didn’t finish all of them :/] a straight marathon). Stocked up on yummy goodness:
Talk about eating right ;D
When I came home, I made myself a turkey sandwich, piled high with lettuce and some avocado. Dericious. Then I returned to the couch for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. But then I felt like a bum. I’ve heard of TV/movie workouts that work similar to dumb drinking games. Where, when a pre-determined something happens, you do a certain workout. There were plenty of Harry Potter workouts. I mixed and matched and added 3-4 elements that were characteristic of each movie. Here’s the basic one I followed:
I realize I should have written bigger, but I worked so hard on the title that I couldn’t bear to re-do it. Hahah, but good thing is that it’s really easy to customize, substitute, or add variations to the workouts. I found myself just sitting sometimes because nothing on the list was happening so I used that to stretch, drink some water, or just enjoy the magical world of Harry Potter. :)
I did this for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as well as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Then I returned to my room and watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire until I fell asleep. Today, I initially woke up to go running outside…but that doesn’t sound like fun at all. Perhaps some Insanity. Or Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!
